When are the dates of Rockstock & Barrel Festival 2019?

It will be held on 13th & 14th September!

What happened to Rockstock 2018?

Rockstock certainly loves a challenge and we've been thrown a good 'un this time.
Due to circumstances beyond our control we have to tell you that Rockstock will not be held at the Chimneys this year.  This decision is out of our hands and down to the Corporate giants Calon who own the ex-power station complex.  After bowing down to all of their demands they now think its ok to halt an event after nearly a years planning and investment.
Since we found out early this week, we have worked tirelessly meeting with other venue owners and keeping 'business as normal'.  Unfortunately we have concluded that it is logistically unfeasible to deconstruct and reorganise the event with just 2 weeks till build starts.  We are gutted.  Our confidence and souls are battered.
As loyal bears, early doors and seasoned Rockstockers you know that we don't do half a job and we stretch ourselves overtime to bring you a full on, yet intimate grass roots event with a massive line up.  We don't want to compromise the Rockstock experience that we are noted for.  Everything is geared around producing Rockstock at The Chimneys and we feel that it is impossible to make this happen, safely and securely at an alternative venue at such short notice.
With this in mind, we are therefore postponing Rockstock until 2019.  We have found a new site that is perfect and are currently working on a plan that will enable us to move to our new home.
We'd like to make it clear that this is not down to Ange and Dave, who have been our accommodating hosts since 2015, nor have we cancelled Rockstock.
We know how great you lot are and will support us through this crisis.  We hope that you will be able to trust us and give us a little time to be in a position to give you the venue details and dates.  The Rockstock business plan is robust, but someone else who has no care or idea what it’s like to create something from scratch, that’s full of soul, love, creativity and passion has just broken it.  So now we need to fix it (and fix it we will).  If anybody feels differently to this and prefers a refund of their ticket money please email
Much Love Debbo and Phily (Festival Re-Organisers) and our wonderful team of smiley helpers that make Rockstock happen.

Where is the festival?

Details of the new secret location will be issued to customers with their tickets.  We can confirm that the secret location is within 10 miles of Derby.

Do I need to buy a ticket?

Limited tickets will be available at the end of January 2019.  The event will be sold out once these have been sold.  No day tickets will be issued and tickets will not be available on the door.

All persons under the age of 16yrs need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.  Rockstock and Barrel reserve the right to check any individuals Identification on entry and throughout the festival.

Why am I being charged a shipping cost on my purchase?

It isnt a shipping charge but the website software wont let me change it to 'booking fee'.  And that is what it covers.  Thank you for understanding with this!

Can I camp at the Festival?

You can camp at the festival, there will be one campsite at the secret location and you will be able to pitch tents near to campervans.

Will the festival be the same as previous Rockstocks?

Rockstock will be different in 2019.  We have been forced to find a new home for our grass roots event.  Our new site means that our festival capacity will be smaller than our previous events.  We will need to make changes that enable us to deliver the event in a field without the infrastructure that we are used to....clearly this will bring additional costs that need to be covered with reduced ticket sales.  We will be taking with us all the best bits of Rockstock that you know and love us for, we will hold tightly to the vibe we have created and we will always deliver a big line up for a small festival, no quality will be lost, just a more condensed version.  We are embracing the opportunity to move forward positively.

Can I bring my own food and alcohol to the festival?

You can bring your own alcoholic drinks to the festival to enjoy back at your camp.  We ask you to support the Festival Bar and Food Traders as they support the festival to continue.   Scrumptiddly Cider Bar, Flamingo Cocktail Bar and Award Winning Cheezy Vinyl Bar will be there.

The fields we will be using are home to Cattle, so please NO GLASS.  Its very important we dont leave anything dangerous behind.

Can I apply to perform or trade at Rockstock Festival?

All band bookings are now complete.

We will be looking for a food caterer with a difference.  Please contact info@rockstockandbarrelfestival.co.uk if you think you have something different that will enhance our event.

And Finally! Is it a dog friendly festival?

We are a dog friendly festival!  They are welcome to be in the campsite and the outdoor arena area.  We do not allow them in the indoor stage areas though.  Please always ensure your dog is on a lead at all times and you pick up after it.  There will be cattle in nearby fields, so you need to keep your dogs under control.
